VALLADOLID ______________
Steeped in history, Valladolid is a city of great cultural and monumental importance. Amongst other historical events, it was here that the marriage of the Catholic Monarchs took place. The famous navigator Christopher Columbus lived and died here. Kings Philip II and Philip IV were born in Valladolid, which in the early 17th century was the capital of Spain. Cervantes, the creator of the immortal Don Quixote, lived here, as did, centuries later, José Zorrilla, author of the mythical Don Juan Tenorio.
Visitors to Valladolid are attracted not only by its history, art, culture and language, but also by the fact that it is a young, dynamic and modern city which, although in a process of constant development, still retains the peaceful atmosphere of a provincial town.
The local youth, including a large community of university students, make the nightlife and traditional festivities or fiestas of Valladolid an exciting, carefree experience.

>> TEACHING METHODS
Our method is based on listening comprehension and oral and written expression. Owing to the experience we have gathered since 1975, we can ensure the best possible results in the shortest possible time: An essentially practical method that does away with the complications of a rule-based grammar and focuses on real, practical, everyday language.
Our students hear, write, read and speak Spanish from the very first day they arrive at Valladolid.

:: INTENSIVE COURSES
>> Course 20h Daily: 4 lessons
The Standard General Spanish course is structured to provide a solid grounding and improvement in the core language skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking. This course is offered in the morning class periods, is open to students from elementary to advanced level and focuses on a communicative approach to learning.
>> Course 30h Daily: 6 lessons
Immersion courses are aimed at the Spanish students who have little time and need to progress in a relatively short time. We recommend this course to students who have a basic knowledge of the Spanish language.
The immersion courses involve 30 hours a week. After a short placement test, students are put into small groups of a maximum of 6 and receive 4 hours a day as part of the intensive course and, later, a further 2 hours a day in individual classes or in classes with a very small number of students.

>> LEVELS
On the first day, students do a short test so that we can place them at the level that best suits their knowledge. Our language school has six levels: Beginners, Elementary, Intermediate, Advanced and Proficiency.
The levels follow the European Framework of Reference for Languages and the guidelines of Instituto Cervantes.
At the end of your stay you will receive a school diploma stating the duration of the course you have completed as well as the language level you have reached.

:: ACTIVITIES
We understand that extracurricular activities are the best complement for teaching the Spanish language, since they enable complete contact between the student and Spanish reality, history and art.
It is a different way of learning in a more relaxed atmosphere where students can also get to know the other students who are at the school but not in the same class.
Each month, we draw up the corresponding extracurricular activities programme, where we include a variety of activities:
Spanish film seasons: Pedro Almodóvar, Alejandro Amenábar, Julio Medem...
Spanish music seasons: Joaquín Sabina, Manolo García...
Café-Tertulia: On some days, we meet up in a cafeteria in the city to speak about current affairs or simply to enjoy each other’s company
Wines and tapas: As our language school is located in the city centre, in the best-known tapas area of Valladolid, we meet up to try some of the famous local wines (Ribera del Duero, Cigales, Rueda) with the tasty tapas that go with them.
