Our school of Spanish in Granada was founded in 1997. The school and the students residence are situated in the same building in the heart of Granada, very close to the Cathedral, beside Plaza Nueva, at the foot of the Albaicín (old arabic quarter). You will learn Spanish and at the same time enjoy its surroundings.

The historical building of the language school has been recently renovated. There are 3 floors and a terrace with a panoramic view over the centre of Granada. On the 2nd and 3rd floors there are fully-equipped apartments with kitchen, washing machine, sitting room, TVs, bathrooms and numerous bedrooms (free wireless internet access is also available). On the first floor there are some classrooms and a computer lab with free internet connection. On the ground floor is the language school office, the library, other classrooms and a patio where the students meet for their activities.

Our Spanish courses run throughout the year for all levels of Spanish. With a young, native, qualified and enthusiastic team, the courses focus on active communication. We have set a limit of 2 to 8 students per class to ensure that students receive personal attention.

With its 270.000 inhabitants Granada is the capital of the province of the same name and the seat of one of the greatest universities in Spain, founded by Charles V in 1526. More than 50.000 university students make an exciting contribution to the city, especially to its night-life. Cafés, pubs, bars, restaurants, terraces and a huge variety of tapas served with a glass of beer or wine can be found in every street.

Featured among the citys many cultural activities are the International Theatre Festival, Tango Festival, International Jazz Festival, the Manuel de Falla Auditoriums annual programme, Flamenco Festivals and the International Music and Dance Festival. The most famous festivities are: Easter Week, Granada Fair, the Cross Day and Zaidín festivities.

Granada has an ideal geographical location. One may contemplate the snow-covered summits of Sierra Nevada (the sky resort of Pradollano -November until April- is just 33 km. from Granada) or the rich, green countryside of the vega, wander the footpaths of the Alpujarras or the cave-houses of Guadix, pay a visit to Sevilla, Córdoba or Málaga, or enjoy Granadas Costa Tropical (beaches!).

Granada has played an important role in the most spectacular chapters of Spains history. The period of Arab domain in the city constitutes the most outstanding historical element to which the world owes one of its most precious monuments: The Alhambra and Generalife.

The Renaissance left its mark with the Cathedral, the Capilla Real, where the Catholic King and Queen are entombed, La Cartuja, the Monasterio de San Jerónimo, and numerous churches and palaces.

The Albayzín, the oldest quarter of Granada, spreads over the hill opposite the Alhambra. Narrow, paved streets rise and fall, leading to small squares, to cisterns, or to a vantage viewpoint of the Alhambra. White houses with patios or gardens, with fountains, houses of Arab or Mediterranean flavour.

The caves of Sacromonte, inhabited by gypsies, are the centre of Flamenco. The Jewish quarter, the Realejo. La Alcaicería, an Arab bazaar with its Moorish arch and its columns of marble. The busy Plaza Nueva. The terraces of El Paseo de los tristes which are very close to touching the Alhambra.

Our Spanish language schools in Granada organize activities to allow you to obtain a deep insight into the Spanish way of life and give you a chance to get to know the town of Granada and the surrounding countryside.

Please note that entrance fees and trips are not included in the course fees.

You can book accommodation in shared apartments with other students or with Spanish families. In both cases you may choose either a double room or single room (with supplement).

1) School residence: The residence is situated in the same building as the school. You can choose between single and double room. The residence has a fully equipped kitchen with washing-machine and TV and 2 bathrooms.

2) Comfortable and spacious apartments are shared with other participants. All apartments have fully equipped communal kitchens, bathrooms with hot water and sitting rooms. Many have a washing machine, patio or balcony. Bedding is provided, but bath towels are not.

3) Spanish families are selected by us carefully. The price includes half pension (breakfast and one meal).

4) If you prefer, you may also book accommodation in a hotel, guesthouse or separate holiday apartment.

The course can also be booked independently without the use of accommodation. Alternatively, those who wish to accompany students may also book accommodation. Information is available on request.
