Spanish courses in La Coruña (Galicia)

 In our Spanish courses in La Coruña we follow a communicative method that we complement with the best features of other teaching approaches. We work on the four language skills: writing, listening, reading and speaking.
We issue a diploma for each of our students that states the level of the course they made and the total number of hours.
Upon request, we also write individual reports with the contents of the course and we assess the achievements of the student.
We have a maximum of 8 (exceptionally 10) students per class.

We offer following Spanish courses in La Coruña:
Course 15h
3 hours/day
General language courses for all levels. We will follow a communicative approach into which all the necessary skills and grammatical questions will be integrated.
The culture goes hand in hand with the language such that whilst you are learning to handle yourself linguistically you will also be learning how Spaniards interact in different verbal situations.
Beginners can join the course at the beginning or halfway through the month.
 Course 20h
4 hours/day
The same features as the standard course but with five hours per week of workshops or seminars.
In these workshops we will work on one specific part of the language and / or culture, which will be adapted at each level.
So, you will have three hours of classes and one hour of workshops or seminars.
Course 25h
5 hours/day
The intensive course is reinforced by 5 tutorial sessions with the teacher during which you will be able to revise with him/her various aspects which you may be finding more difficult or more interesting.
So, each day you will have three hours of classes, a workshop or seminar and a tutorial.
Course 30h
6 hours/day
The super-intensive course is reinforced with an additional 5 hours where we will work specifically on the four skill areas (speaking, reading, understanding and writing in Spanish).
Thus, daily, you will have: 3 hours of classes, 1 hour of workshops or seminars, 1 tutorial and a further hour of specific work on the skill areas.

 Workshops
These workshops, amongst others, will be complementary to the intensive and extensive courses, and we will use them adapting them at each level:
· Phonetics workshop (we will practice aspects of pronunciation at beginners levels)
· Press workshop (we will work with newspaper texts and audiovisual materials)
· Literature workshop(we will work with texts of contemporary literature)
· Theatrical workshop ( students write a mini play which they will perform in front of the class)
· Cultural workshop (we will analyse socio-cultural issues)
· Music workshop (we will work with songs to practice the skill areas)
· Creative writing workshop (students toy with their creativity, writing their own stories and poems)
· Simulations workshop (practice situations in which the students may find themselves out of class: shopping in the market, ordering in a restaurant, speaking on the telephone, buying clothes in a shop...)
· Tasks workshop (inspired in our approach by tasks, we will dedicate these workshops to performing one final task with all the necessary steps and practicing all the skill areas).
Seminars
The seminars are complementary to the different intensive and extensive courses at intermediate and advanced levels. Here are some of those which will be offered:

Special courses
 Preparatory course for D.E.L.E. exam
4 hours/day
D.E.L.E. is a Diploma in Spanish as a Foreign Language. Preparation for Cervantes Institute official exams.
On these courses you will be able to work with material similar to the type of questions that appear in these tests and thereby familiarising yourself with the examination whilst improving your Spanish.
Depending on your level you can enter exams to obtain:
· The "Diploma de Español" at beginners level (level B1 of the Frame of Reference)
· The "Diploma de Español" at intermediate level (level B2 of the Frame of Reference)
· The "Diploma de Español" at advanced level (level C2 of the Frame of Reference)
Tailor-made course (1-to-1 or a closed group)
If you have specific needs and objectives we can design a tailor made for you at your pace.
Whether it is for one person or for small groups with the same level of knowledge of the language.
For that you will have to get in touch with us at least one month prior to the date you want to start the course and tell us what you want to do. We will make a proposal according to your objectives.
Spanish for tourism
4 hours/day
The Spanish for tourism course is thought out for professionals with links to any activity related to this area (travel agents, hotel staff, guides, tourism students...) and who have to deal with the Spanish language to carry out their jobs. We will practice situations which could unfold in this field.
Spanish for the catering industry
4 hours/day
The catering industry course is aimed at people who work in restaurants, pubs, cafés,... and who need Spanish to perform their jobs. We will practice the vocabulary and typical conversations in this context.
Spanish for healthcare professionals
4 hours/day
The healthcare course is thought out for people who work in any activity related with healthcare: doctors, nurses, dentists, medical students... who have to interact with Spanish speakers. We will practice the vocabulary related with this topic and also practice situations which can take place in this field.
Spanish for business
4 hours/day
This course is targeted at students, professionals, executives, secretaries...those who have to use Spanish in their job. On these courses we will work with commercial correspondence, telephone conversations, and a lot of oral practice applied to work situations (how to negotiate, argue, sell, convince...)
VIP intensive Spanish course
8 hours/day
 This course is thought out for anyone who doesn't have a lot of time and is interested in doing an intensive one week course from which you will gain the greatest benefit in the least possible time. In this course the student can count on the exclusive help of a teacher who won't just give classes but will also accompany him or her to meals (4 meals and one dinner) and afternoon activities. Thus, you continue to practice outside the classroom and during the time you get to know the city and enjoy the rich Galician cooking in good restaurants.

In total you will spend eight hours a day from Monday to Friday with your teacher between classes, meals and afternoon activities. We will plan a timetable according to your interests.
Afterwards you will be able to enjoy the city how you wish or, if you like, participate in the activities prepared for other courses and meet other students.

 Spanish course (15h) + water sports
Galicia is one of the best destinations in Spain to practice water sports.
Our school in La Coruña organizes introductory and advanced courses in the following water sports:
- Catamarán: 8 hours + federative licence
- Kitesurf: 8-hour kitesurf course split in 4 sessions of 2 hours each
- Surf: 10 hours split in two weekends in sessions of 2 hours and a half each or 1 week: In the afternoons from Monday to Friday, 2 hours and a half each session
- Sailing: 12 hours + materials + insurance
- Wakeboard: course of 4 sessions of 20 minutes each + a bonus of 10 tractions of 20 minutes each
- Windsurf: 10 hours split in 5 sessions of two hours each
